Most BIM managers didn’t take the job so they could spend their day answering Slack messages that say “do you have that detail?” or “which family should I use?” But that’s often what the role becomes.

When teams can’t quickly find or trust the right content, they turn to the one person who probably knows where it is. Over time, BIM managers become the firm’s search engine, QA department, and help desk all at once.

Teams regularly spend 15–30 minutes just trying to find the right detail or family, digging through folders, old models, and libraries that have grown faster than anyone can manage. When they’re not sure what’s correct, they escalate it to the BIM manager. Multiply that across a firm and suddenly one person is fielding questions all day long. In this product showcase, we’ll talk about why this happens and what firms can do to fix it.
