For MEP Engineering Firms

Pirros for MEP Engineers

Bring your firm’s knowledge into every project.

Pirros gives mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection teams a connected way to find proven families and details, stay on firm standards, and catch issues before a set goes out.

Built for MEP engineers

Better systems delivery, from the first family to the final review.

  • Start every project further ahead

Find proven families, details and past project work faster, from VAV boxes to panel schedules, so teams stop rebuilding what the firm already solved.

  • Catch issues before the set goes out

Review mechanical, electrical and plumbing sheets against firm standards, client standards and code requirements earlier, reducing the risk of RFIs, rework, and costly downstream fixes.

  • Turn firm knowledge into everyday practice

Keep MEP standards, proven system designs and lessons learned accessible across projects and offices, helping mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams collaborate better and deliver more consistently.

Detail Management

Find, reuse, and reference every detail your firm has drawn.

  • Describe the condition and how it is built. AI search reads the drawing itself and returns what your firm already solved, whether that is a vetted typical or a detail from a project four years ago.
  • Live section details come in as references you can reuse.
  • Analytics show which details your teams keep reaching for, so you know which ones deserve to become firm standards.

Family Management

Find any family. Trust what you place.

  • Describe what you need the way you would say it out loud.
  • Our own proprietary AI model reads the family itself, so it finds the right one across loadable and system families, model groups, categories and your own standards, with no tags to keep up.
  • A health score shows what is worth trusting, and flags the families dragging model performance down. Pirros automates the upkeep.

Quality Management System

Cross-check the set against your standards, your specs, and the code.

  • The Quality Management System runs on Mira, so it reads a project the way a reviewer would, against the standards your firm keeps in Pirros.
  • Every finding names the sheet, the location and the standard behind it, so issues get resolved before they become RFIs.
  • Pirros surfaces what to check. Your team makes the call, and a licensed professional still signs the drawings.

Illustration: the Quality Management System checks a floor plan against the firm’s standards and raises two issues on it — a door approach that may not hold the required clearance, assigned to a teammate, and a beam whose fireproofing label may not match its assembly, offered to Mira to resolve. The drawing, the issues and the names are made up for this page.

Review & Collaboration

The whole project team, collaborating in real time.

  • Group the details and families a project needs into a stash as you find them.
  • Send it to a colleague to mark up, then stage the whole thing for Revit in one go.
  • Leadership, production staff and BIM teams work on it together, and nobody has to open Revit to take part.

Pirros is the AI project hub for architects and engineers, built for Revit. For mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection teams, it makes every Revit family and detail your firm has drawn searchable by what it is, marks the firm-approved version, and places it straight into the active model. Its Quality Management System reviews a set against your standards, your specs and the codes you build to. More than 400 firms worldwide build on Pirros.

Revit is where the systems get modeled. Keeping track of what the firm has already modeled and detailed takes a second tool. MEP firms use Pirros for that: upload past project models and the families and details inside them become searchable, with no tagging scheme to agree on first. Vetted firm standards are kept apart from one-off project work, and anyone can place a family or detail into Revit without leaving it. A/E firms with an in-house MEP group can tag projects by discipline or give MEP a workspace of its own.

Search for what it is, not what the file is called. Pirros reads a family's category, parameters and 3D preview as well as its name, and reads the drawing inside every detail, so a search for a VAV box or a floor drain detail can find it under any file name. Filter by Revit category, client, project or Revit version, compare the options, and see which are firm-approved and which are reference only before you insert one.

Give every family one record and one history. When an admin updates a family in Pirros, the change lands as a new version of the same family instead of a duplicate, and earlier versions are kept so older projects keep working. In Revit, Download Latest checks the open model for Pirros families and details that have a newer version and brings in the ones you pick. Health scores flag families that need cleanup. Pirros works with Revit 2020 through 2027, and upgrades an older family automatically when someone loads it into a newer version.

Yes. Filter families and details by client to see what that client's projects have used, and save the set a client's jobs start from as a firm stash anyone on the team can pull from. For reviews, upload a client's standards as a PDF next to your own, then choose which standards apply each time a project is checked.

The Pirros Quality Management System reviews the set against the codes you select, your firm and client standards, and the references you load, including the spec book and the other disciplines' models or PDF sets. It also checks the set against itself, such as details that are never referenced. Each finding names the sheet, the location and the standard behind it. Pirros surfaces what to check. Your team makes the call, and a licensed professional still signs the drawings.

Yes. Export from Unifi one discipline at a time (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection) and bring your tag list across as a CSV. Upload one Revit year of each family, usually the earliest: Pirros upgrades a family automatically the first time someone loads it into a newer version of Revit. Autodesk offers no bulk export from Unifi, so the download is manual, and for a well-kept set of families it is typically a few days of work for one person.
